Comunications and Access

The Bay of Cádiz, thanks to its strategic geographical situation, where two of the three most important flows of world seaway goods transport converge, is a privileged setting for the development of harbour activity. To the wide range of possibilities that the Bay of Cádiz offers with regards to maritime communication, it is necessary to add magnificent overland connections, with a wide network of roads and railroads, in addition to having an international airport only 45 km. away.

 By Road

The harbour installations are easily accessible by way of the Cádiz - Seville motorway, the entry point to the national and international network of dual carriageways, for which reason unsurpassable links in transport towards North African countries are provided; as well as the improvements of the roads in the area, such as the A-381 Jerez-Los Barrios dual carriageway act as a link with the Mediterranean dual carriageway, in this way obtaining an even faster link.

By railway:

Rail connections are underway to the new container terminal and direct to the bulk cargo quayside, giving a competitive edge to the ports customers.
