Invoicing

In the Invoicing department of the APBC (Port Authority of the Bay of Cadiz) we are currently immersed in two very important projects that in a few years are going to change the administrative management of the Port. They are going to allow us to pass some procedures, where we continue using paper as data support, to be carried out by means of the Port Website, completely eliminating paper as the support for requests, service invoicing, invoice notification, etc.

These two projects that we are working on are:

-1- The new module of Integral Management and Invoicing of Port Services.
-2- The request for Port Services rendered via the Port Website, in a project called PCs.

The Integral Management and Invoicing module of Port Services

In this module we are working with other Port Authorities, coordinating the State Port project and among other things, we intend to; have better mediums to manage the port services that we render and some more modern programmes adapted to new procedures currently used for the automatic loading of DUES (Documentos Únicos de escala - Unique port of call documents) with regards to ships and Cargo Manifests for goods.

Other possibilities that these systems are going to give us are; the notification of settlements and invoices by means of telemetry, the possibility (when a Law authorizes it) that the users can settle some Port services themselves, etc.

The request of Port Services via the Port Website, in a project called PCs

In this project we intend to completely eliminate paper for the request of Water and Electricity Supply, Area Occupation, Cranes and Various Services.
One of the most important functions that this project has is that it is going to allow the customer requesting the service to see from their request how the service is authorized, how the data is being completed by the Port Police, also having the possibility of showing us at any moment if they do not agree with any of the data put on record at the end of that service, etc. Furthermore, from the same request they will be able to see the assessment of the service and its invoice.
With all of this, we intend to make the process more transparent, completely getting rid of paper and ensuring that the customer requesting a service is always aware of how that service is being completed. We also intend to simplify the work of Port Police and make it easier for them to relate with the user who has requested the service, with the aim of eliminating errors during the process.
