This was the Golden Age of the Port of Cadiz (we have data showing that by the middle of the century 23 boats left Barcelona for the Indies, 26 from La Coruña, 34 from Malaga and 73 from Cadiz, with more than 80 percent of the total volume of overseas export).

1717
Under the reign of Felipe V the administrative centre of commercial monopoly with America was established in Cadiz.

1778
Carlos III breaks the monopoly and authorises the rest of the country with overseas commerce.
